TORONTO – One year after sending his Canadian fans into a frenzy at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards by accompanying girlfriend and host Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber will next month show off protégé Carly Rae Jepsen at the Canadian video awards show in Toronto.

Vancouver punk/emo band Marianas Trench lead the field going into the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards with seven nominations, including best pop video for "Haven’t Had Enough," and best video for "Fallout."But Marianas Trench face stiff competition in the UR fave video of the year category from Jepsen, who along with the indie rockers is signed to 604 Records, Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger's indie label. But also in Jepsen’s corner is Bieber, who launched the 26 year-old songstress into the U.S. market after she signed on with manager Scooter Braun's label Schoolboy Records and made a joint appearance on The Ellen Show.

Also entered in the UR fave video of the year competition is rapper Drake and rockers Hedley, who each grabbed five nominations for the 2012 MMVAs. For his part, Bieber earned two nominations, as he competes for best international video by a Canadian against Avril Lavigne, Drake, Nickelback and Simple Plan. Bieber will also contend in the best international video competition on Chris Brown’s "Next 2 You" video, against rival videos by Beyonce, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull and Rihanna.

Other multiple MMVA nominees include Down With Webster with four nods, including best video with "She’s Dope," and City and Color and Danny Fernandes, each with two nominations. The American electro-pop duo LMFAO, who will co-host the Canadian kudosfest, earned two nods, as did chart topper Katy Perry, who will perform at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards. The Canadian music video awards will take place on June 17, and will air on the MuchMusic channel in Canada and on the Fuse cable channel stateside.

We know he has won countless awards for his record-breaking music career, but now Justin Bieber has earned an award of another kind. On Monday it was announced that the Biebs will take home the 2012 Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award, which honors one lucky celebrity who has embraced and promoted the world of fragrance.

In other news, the teen sensation is also in the running for the luxe women gong against other fellow celeb Beyonce Knowles for her frangrance "Pulse" as well as Bottega Veneta, Prada Candy and Tom Ford Violet Blonde. The ceremony, which has been held annually since 1973, will take place in New York City on May 21 with "Glee" actress Jane Lynch taking the stage as host for the evening.

It was only fitting that 'Saturday Night Live's' 100th digital milestone was perhaps its most overblown and star-packed celebration to date, with stars including Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Usher and Natalie Portman all involved in the three and a half minute song.

The song saw the celebrities and regular cast members Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone come together in a song themed about a rather gymnastically impressive form of self-fellatio.
 
At the centre of the skit initially was teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, reports The Los Angeles Times, who appeared in a tuxedo with the regulars looking, as ever, squeaky clean. However, as the subject matter turned rude, the 18 year-old pop star looked horrified and took back stage to a plethora of other stars more than happy to tackle the adult theme.

The highlight of the performers was Natalie Portman, who put in a genuinely laugh out loud cameo as a rapper insisting she was still as bad as ever despite giving birth - at one point throwing her fake baby over the top of a roof.
 
Usher meanwhile turned up very briefly to say "I've never been in a Digital Clip before but these white guys sure like d***," before show host Will Ferrell finished the whole thing towards the end. All in all, a suitably jam-packed skit to celebrate the 100 coming up.

Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj celebrated Mother's Day at the Home Depot Center in California for a star-studded Wango Tango concert over the weekend. They were joined by Maroon 5, Pitbull, LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes, The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen and many others.

Bieber came to the KIIS FM summer gig to introduce fellow Canadian singer Jepsen, who was signed to his manager Scooter Braun's label Schoolboy Records. Although he didn't make a live performance, the "Boyfriend" hitmaker took time do an interview and talk about his upcoming studio album "Believe".

"We just released a song called 'Turn to You'. It was actually for my mom for mother's day. That has been blowing up and it is top five on the iTunes right now," Bieber said. "We are really having fun with the album and we are waiting for the world to hear it." He is set to release the CD in the United States on June 19.

Minaj channeled her signature Harajuku Barbie and stormed the stage with "Did It on 'Em", "I Am Your Leader", "Beez in the Trap", "Moment 4 Life", "By My Side", "Superbass" and "Starships". Her set reportedly was marred by technical difficulties of the microphone and speakers, but the issues didn't hinder the female rapper from giving her best on-stage act.

Maroon 5 got the crowd going with old stocks of fans' favorites like "Harder to Breathe", "Sunday Morning" and "This Love". Led by Adam Levine, the band were joined by Wiz Khalifa when playing their latest single "Payphone". As a closing number, they played Christina Aguilera-assisted "Moves Like Jagger" without the former Disney star.

Pitbull was the last performer. Although his catalog is full of collaborations with other artists, the rapper rocked the stage solo during the May 12 show. He pumped up the crowd with such songs as "I Like How It Feels", "International Love", "Rain Over Me", "Calle Ocho", "On the Floor", "I Like It", "DJ Got Us Falling In Love", "Back in Time" and "Give Me Everything".

Another highlight from the concert was a mash-up of LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Redfoo and SkyBlu. Additionally, Travis McCoy led Gym Class Heroes for a duet with Neon Hitch in "Ass Back Home," brought Adam Levine in "Stereo Hearts", and delighted fans with his solo hit "Billionaire".

Drawing out some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango 2012 concert was the place to be in Carson, CA. With the annual event taking place at the Home Depot Center, the sold-out crowd was led through a full slate of performers by host Ryan Seacrest with big names such as Nicki Minaj, B.o.B. and Pitbull among those gracing the stage.

Bringing those fortunate enough to be in the audience to their feet, other musical acts included Carly Rae Jespen (who got some major support from attendee Justin Bieber), as well as The Wanted, Foster The People, Big Sean, Maroon 5, Wiz Khalifa and Gym Class Heroes.

Other stars hitting the Home Depot Center for this year's Wango Tango show included reality star sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, "Real Housewives" castmates Taylor Armstrong and Kyle Richards, "American Idol" contestant Colton Dixon, "Dancing with the Stars" duo Maria Menounos and Derek Hough, Kathy Griffin, Kay Graham, Logan Henderson, Ariana Grande, "Jersey Shore" stars Deena and Ronnie, and "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed, who was joined by musician hubby Paul McDonald.

Justin Bieber has the money to give his mom Pattie Mallette just about anything, but we all know something you make yourself can be the best gift of all. Bieber took that to heart and released a song about his mom, just in time for Mother's Day.

"Turn to You" is a personal song following his mother's hardships raising Justin before he became a big star. It will be available to buy on May 12, but you can listen to it below.

It's obvious Justin still takes his mother's guidance to heart; he says that she was the main reason he pursued a high school diploma. "That was something my mom really wanted me to do, so I had to do it for her," he told Daily Mail. "I mean, this kind of lifestyle has given me a different perspective on life."

Justin Bieber's performance of Boyfriend on The Voice was supposed to be one of the highlights of the evening, but it could end up being remembered for its poor quality.

Bieber closed the show with a flashy, Michael Jackson-esque performance that featured women pressing themselves to the young singer and stroking him all over (Bieber look rather uncomfortable during these parts of the performance).

The recent high school graduate sounded breathless during his rapping parts of the tune, and the backup vocal levels almost dominated his singing as he battled falsetto notes.

Generally, pop stars perform poorly on singing shows because they go up against actual vocal talent - that is not to say Bieber has no vocal talent, but his popularity is not based solely on his singing. His turn on The Voice highlighted that.

Justin Bieber and Drake started bubbling to the top of the music-industry surface around the same time. While Drake had already had a career on the small screen on "Degrassi: The Next Generation," it was his rap game that would solidify him as an international star. Just as Drizzy was trying to carve out his path in the world of hip-hop several years ago, Bieber began posting videos on YouTube under the moniker KidRauhl.

Somewhere along the way, the two got famous and became besties. And now, as Bieber nears the June 19 release of his new album, Believe, he explained what it's like to traverse the sometimes murky waters of celebrity with his friend by his side.

"I mean, it's crazy because we both are kind of going on the same journey on different sides of the world," the pop star told MTV News. "I think it's so cool because we kind of both get what each other go through and he's able to give me different pieces of advice and I'm able to tell him how to treat a lady. I'm just kidding."

While both have gained tons of fame and fortune, back in 2009 the hype around these two Canadians was at a fevered pitch. Bieber was readying the release of his buzzy debut, My World, and Drake was dropping his star-making EP, So Far Gone.

While some have come and gone in the years since, the excitement hasn't quieted down around Bieber and Drake. In fact, as both performers gain more and more momentum in their careers, it seems their friendship has only grown stronger. For Bieber's next album, the pals decided to take their friendship to the next level with a collaboration.

"We talk about everything," Bieber said of their recording session. "He's a great guy and super-talented, and his melodies are crazy. When we go into the studio, he'll go in the booth and he'll do some melodies and we'll write. If I'm in the studio there's not really any time to mess around. It's always different, but always [there to] get the work done."

Bieber confirmed that the Drake collaboration definitely made the cut and that he's still working on getting already-recorded collaborations with romantic rival Kanye West, Usher and Taylor Swift on the album as well.

Justin Bieber drives fast cars, nuzzles with one very lovely young woman and gets his dance on in his record-setting "Boyfriend" video. Fairly simple in its concept, the video is a snapshot of what it would be like to party with the teen star and his hip friends on a rooftop in Los Angeles.

MTV News recently sat down with Director X, and he broke down what it was like to hit the set with the 18-year-old as he readies the next phase of his career, the more mature Believe era. The video is the lead visual off Bieber's June 19 album, and X took us through the clip, frame by frame.

Frame By Frame: Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' "We start this off with the car stunts," he said of the opening shot. "We wrecked that car by the way; both of those Mustangs were pretty shot after this video, completely shot after this video."From there, fans are invited to Bieber's car-themed rooftop bash, one that recalls the type of shindig another teen idol from back in the day may have thrown.

"So we got this rooftop here in L.A., starting our day with Justin and he's pulling up. We got all the cool kids hanging out," X said. "Justin's new look, he's kind of got a James Dean thing going on here. That's really Justin driving that Mustang ... and he did all the stunts by himself, completely. That's all him," X joked. "Actually, that's us holding the car. We put the car on these wheels and we pushed it around in circles while Justin pretended to drive."

Justin's "smooth" driving moves are matched only by the real ones he uses on his female co-star, Rachel Barnes. "We got Justin with the girl, pulling [her] around [with the] kids dancing, 'cause you know how kids do. That's what goes on [at these get-togethers]: Someone brings out their guitar and the party happens," he explained.

"The idea really was to show a lifestyle piece — Justin hanging out — to show that he's older ... just to see this new vibe," the director added. "We get to see that he's growing into his manhood. [We] just [wanted] to get in an environment where we can show that naturally, just have fun and get the vibe of who he is."

While Bieber and his lady love in the video captured fans' attention, a co-star who was dubbed "Chunky Bieber" on-set has also gotten some buzz. X explained, "[Chunky Bieber] came with one of the cars and somehow [Bieber's manager], Scooter [Braun], I don't know how in the world they got into conversation where Chunky Bieber started dancing somehow." Apparently it all went down when the director wasn't looking. "They taped 'Chunky Bieber' to his shirt and Chunky Bieber got in the video."

As the video closes out, Justin's dancing skills are on full display. "Got some footage of Justin dancing, [and] those are really his feet," Director X said. "He can do that, and that's it: Justin Bieber, bad boy."

Heavyweight pop star Justin Bieber shared a bit of his swag with super welterweight boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. in vegas.

Biebs, along with rapper 50 Cent and WWE wrestler Triple H, had the honor of escorting Mayweather into the ring before the boxer's highly anticipated fight with Miguel Cotton at Las Vegas' MGM Grand arena. The 18-year-old chart-topper, who carried two of Mayweather's championship belts into the arena before the fight, was also the first to congratulate the 35-year-old boxer after he defeated Cotto.

According to reports, Bieber joined Mayweather in the dressing room before the event and sat just feet away from trainer Roger Mayweather and the rest of Mayweather's self-proclaimed "Money Team" during the fight. Lil Wayne, who was also in attendance, joined the superstar celebration in the ring after the unanimous decision was made.
